In September of 2013, International Data Corporation (IDC), a global provider of market intelligence and other informative research towards new technologies, released a vendor assessment of the integrated talent management market in Western Europe. The assessment covers 12 various software vendors in Europe to analyze each vendor’s market capabilities and strategies for competing in the future. These companies included six headquartered in the United States and six in Europe.
Through rigorous testing and scoring, the assessment provides the most exact information by using the IDC MarketScape model to assess both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that shows the success rate for each of the vendors. The customer base for the study was of at least 250,000 users to get the most successful and precise measurements for all accounts. These results highlighted what the vendors are doing successfully and what some of their weaknesses are.
One of the main points IDC discovered is the importance of companies integrating their HR departments to various products and services that are offered, instead of trying to customize their HR departments themselves. Businesses are trying to find loopholes to be able to create their own solution to their HR and recruiting processes for various reasons that are covered in CedarCrestone’s 2013-2014 White Paper. But what companies are failing to see is that by doing this is that they are actually hurting their business as opposed to saving money, time or hassle.
A major point considered in the assessment is full talent management coverage. Starting with one particular area of your department can allow you to focus on the end-to-end HR processes. It starts with a plan that you can analyze, track and seek results.
Many of the vendors that were assessed, including Cornerstone OnDemand, Oracle Talent Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors, are leaders in Europe’s integrated talent management market. These vendors provide the technologies that can provide companies the start to finish plan for HR and recruiting goals, and ever since the creation of the cloud that more vendors are using for their softwares, it’s now easier than ever to start with the transition. These are the upcoming SaaS technologies that companies need to start adapting. There is no need for customization, just the simplicity of becoming organized, goal-oriented and open to the idea of integration.
